President’s Message

A new year is upon us, and sometimes this brings with it new changes and opportunities.

As some of you may be aware, Marc Desjardins has recently stepped down from the Ottawa Flying Club Board of Directors for personal reasons. As a result, the Board has resolved to appoint myself, Adam Martin as the Interim President until our upcoming Annual General Meeting on February, 25, 2011.

On behalf of the Board and our members, I would like to thank Marc for his years of dedication, hard work, and enthusiasm as President of the OFC. Marc has offered his continued involvement in assisting the OFC in event coordination, marketing activities, and several other member roles moving forward, and we look forward to working with him.

I am honoured to have been selected by the Board to be Interim President, and like many of you, I have a passion for aviation and appreciate the value of what the OFC brings to our lives.

This year the Board will be re-evaluating our operational and business strategies, with the intent to grow our current flight training offerings through marketing programs, social events and other channels. The growth of our flight training programs will help us to continue to improve the Club and will enable us to provide support to our membership.

Most importantly, thank you to our wonderful dedicated members, staff, customers and suppliers for all your support and efforts to date. As President, I look forward to working with you to maintain and grow our wonderful Club.
