Night Rating

In order to fly at night, a night rating is required. In the winter in Canada, this is especially useful.

The prerequisite for the night rating is a Private Pilot Licence

Flight Training at Ottawa International is a great environment to train for night flying.

Transport Canada minimums for a Night Endorsement requires 10 hours dual instrument instruction, 5 hours dual night instruction. Two hours of the dual night must be night cross-country. Five hours of solo night circuits are also required.

Upon completion of the course, the student's total night flying experience must be at least 10 hours. A flight test is not required for the night endorsement.

Training is conducted on our single engine fleet of Cessna 150 and 172 aircraft. Have a look at our fleet
